Highway 8 open house Dec. 2
The lengthy process of designing the reconstruction projects along Highway 8, from Forest Lake to Chisago City, is in the public comment final phase. Chisago County Engineer Joe Triplett announced a public meeting for information about the environmental assessment documents will be held December 2, at Lakeside School Media Center, on Karmel Avenue in Chisago City. This is an open house style meeting allowing for you to come and go and engineers will be there to talk with and answer questions.
The meeting starts at 5:30 and is scheduled to end by 7:30 p.m.
The project team has more details to share on what this project will look like, and next steps in construction planning, Triplett stated.
Copies of the environmental assessment were made public this week and are on-line plus at libraries in Wyoming city and the Chisago Lakes Area Library. Chisago City Hall and Forest Lake City Hall and the county public works facility in Center City also have public copies of the assessment.
Public comments are open for 30 days, from the start of the assessment document’s availability Nov 18 to December 18. If you have a question, suggestion or know of something not being addressed in the environmental assessment or EA— there will be a court reporter to take verbal comments at the open house and cards for written remarks are also provided.
