The Chisago Age Well committee invites everyone to the fall expo tomorrow (Friday) at Chisago Lakes High School. The expo runs from 9am to 1pm and is located through the performing arts center entrance. The expo is filled with vendors of all types relating to aging in Minnesota along with free health screenings, prizes and giveaways.  Food and refreshments are available for purchase as well.  You can even get your flu shot, covid vaccine, RSV and tetanus shots.  At 10:30 am, Natalie Matthewson will give a seminar called Changing How We Talk About Aging.    The Chisago Lakes Ukulele Band and Unexpected Company will provide entertainment for everyone.

Mark your calendars, next week will be the annual Outerwear Fair at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lindstrom.  The event runs October 23, 24  from 2-7pm and October 25 from am to noon.  Those in need of winter coats, hats, boots, mittens and gloves are welcome to stop by and find items to keep your family warm this winter. 

Trinity is still taking donations. If you have new or gently used outerwear to share, please feel free to stop by the church and drop it off. Call the office for more information if you would like to donate or volunteer as we keep our community warm this winter.

I have known this group of volunteers for years and years.   I can say with certainty they are some of the nicest people in our community.  Thanks to the volunteers for all their hard work.

I know I go off on some weird tangents from time to time, so here comes another one.  

Is it just me (probably) or is there a ridiculous amount of crows in our area this year?  I literally can’t spend a peaceful day outside without these annoying birds calling to their friends on the next block.  I remember my dad taught me once to clap two boards together to scare them away.  I have tried that, they flutter away for about 30 seconds and then come back with three of their friends.  They say that crows are very intelligent birds, I say they would have to be the way they mess with my temper and patience.  Blue Jays have always been an annoyance to me, but the crow has taken that honor now.
