Egg hunt, better late than never
Shafer Parks Committee held their first annual Easter Egg Hunt Saturday. I was a bit skeptical about the turnout because of the fact that Easter had already passed. In fact, I was there fifteen minutes early and was still thinking the same thing. But the residents of Shafer poured into Shafer Meadows Park and soon it was filled with kids filling their bags with Easter eggs. The city put out so many eggs (3,000 in all) that most kids left with multiple bags of easter eggs filled with goodies. Thanks to the Parks Committee for making a dreary Saturday morning fun for so many kids of all ages.
If you have not gotten your Chisago Lakes Lions Cadillac Dinner tickets yet, I would encourage you to do so soon. The event is on May 2 and coincides with the Kentucky Derby.
Held at the Uncommon Loon, the event doors open at 4:30pm with the running of the roses broadcast live around 5:30pm. The Dinner and festivities will begin at 6pm. There are only 100 tickets sold and while they are $150 per couple, Grand Prize for the evening will be $1,500 with second place taking home $500 and third place with $250. There will be raffles as well as a silent auction. You can get your tickets from any local Lions member or call us here at the Press and we will connect you with a Lion. Make sure to wear your best derby attire.
