We finally have a weekend break from town celebrations.  Next week will be Chisago City’s chance to shine.  This weekend you can recharge your batteries because they rev up again with Ki Chi Saga Days, Almelund Threshing Show, Shafer Days, and Amador Applefest just around the corner.  

Because of the start date of Ki Chi Saga Days, we have  in this edition of the Press, a huge spread detailing all of the events taking place as well as the wonderful local businesses who support the event.  We hope you will make a point next weekend of coming out and enjoying the last big hurrah before (gulp) school starts.

The shelter where I bring all of the clothing you have donated to help the homeless was closed Sunday for construction.  Why am I telling you this? Because we now have a few more days until the next trip there.  If you have clothing, shoes toiletries for donating to the homeless please just drop them off here at the Press and we will ensure they get to the correct place and in the hands of very needy people.  As always thank you for giving.  

This evening August 13 (late notice I know) St, Bridget of Sweden Catholic Church invites everyone to their Cafe Accordion Orchestra concert.  The concert starts at 7pm and is filled with some amazing music both romantic and danceable.  

If you happen to see goats next door to us in Lindstrom, no I am not getting into goat farming.  The new owner of the Dinerbel site has enlisted these furry friends to help clear both buckthorn and other vegetation from the site which has been cleared of buildings.  There is a specific goat that loves to stand on his hind legs and look at the lake.  He must like to fish.
