My opinion? Nobody wants it
I have had some people ask me lately why I don’t write about what is taking place in our state. They were referring to all the fraud investigations and of course the ICE shootings and arrests in the twin cities.
I had to think about that one before I answered. What it comes down to is this— do I have an opinion on either or all of the topics, of course I do. But to be honest, in this day and age, if a person gives their opinion on a subject and whomever deems that incorrect, there is a witch hunt. I have seen this building and building over the years especially on social media. Don’t believe me? Look at any of the local Facebook community pages. One person says their opinion and 138 people chime in to eviscerate them. It just makes me tired. Tired and depressed. I am too old and way too tired to have cat fights with people via the keyboard. People became so tough when social media came around. At least in the newspaper business, I will get a phone call telling me I am a complete idiot who has no clue. That is taking way more ownership than sitting on a computer and firing missiles at people’s opinions. So call away I guess.
