Roasting or freezing - no between
A few years back our house had bad damage from a storm that ripped through Center City. If you remember it was the one that landed the giant wood adirondack chair in the middle of North Center Lake. We ended up getting new siding and a new roof after the storm, so it was our chance to change the look to whatever we wished. We chose a dark grey with a black roof and it looks amazing. We have had many compliments on the new look of our house. So why am I writing about it? I am giving a warning if you are thinking about those color combinations. The dark grey looks great but I would skip the black roof next time. Our upstairs is so hot now whenever it is warm out. Not sure if they make white shingles, but I will be looking into it.
Here is hoping you have a wonderful Fourth of July. Here’s to wishing for good weather. The forecast does not look great but there is time for it to improve.
I attended the Chisago Lakes Free Community Meal Monday. I was asked to take a photo of the Mitchell family. LeRoy Mitchell has been cooking the community meal that feeds close to 300 each week for over 12 years now. His family decided to surprise him and help serve. It was great to see all of them and for them to see just how hard LeRoy busts his tail each week to help feed our friends and neighbors.
If you are a politician or a hopeful candidate, the County Press is a wonderful avenue to get your political viewpoints and running platform out to the general public.

The Q and A format for a voters’ guide will be sent to you later.
