The application window to run for municipal level office or school board is opening Tuesday, next week. The filing to place your name on a ballot  runs from July 14-28 and would-be candidates will file at the office of the governmental unit they wish to be elected to.

The openings for Chisago Lakes school board this November are currently held by Jen Penzenstadler, Josh Soderlund and Sara Aadland.

In North Branch ISD #138 the Board seats expiring are held by Adam Trampe, Sarah Grovender and Jesse LaValla.  School Board member Tim MacMillan has filed to be a candidate for the Chisago County Board and if he is seated as a county commissioner there will need to be a special election to fill his Board seat.

Elsewhere in the Press readership area: 

~ The mayor in Taylors Falls announced he is not running.  This seat is expiring along with the council seats held by Lee Samuelson and Tim Grote.

~ Lindstrom council positions that have expiring terms are held by Brian Norelius, Mike Hilber and Mayor Judy Chartrand.

~ In Chisago City the mayor and two council terms expire, the positions are held by Jeremy Dresel, Craig Meyer and Nikki Battles.

~ Wyoming has just two council terms that will be on the ballot, held by Claire Luger and Dennis Schilling currently.

~ In North Branch the mayor’s term expires and two 4-year council seats have terms ending.

~ The City of Stacy has the Mayor seat expiring and council seats held by Jeff Barrett and Tim Sawatzky.

~ City of Shafer does not have a filing for the mayor position. The incumbent mayor is running for county commissioner. Two city council seats willexpire, which are held by Nick Brehm and Patty Mattson, who have filed.
