Center City Days have come and gone.  The heat (stop me if you have heard this before) didn’t seem to deter the crowds attending the celebration.  The street dance had a huge turnout on Saturday night.  Thanks so much to all the volunteers who did such a great job of making our local festivities so fun for all of us to enjoy!

As the summer goes along here in our neck of the woods, so do the summer celebrations.  This weekend Stacy invites you to come enjoy Stacy Daze.  Stacy Daze runs Friday and Saturday and has plenty of fun events for the entire family to enjoy.  

The event begins with the medallion hunt where the clues are posted at Doyle Fields, and on the Lions Facebook page.  Find the medallion and take home $500. Friday evening begins with a fantastic car show that is held at the fire hall.  There were so many cars last year it stretched across Forest Blvd.  The car show begins at 5pm and runs until 8.  At 6pm, there is a talent show in Lions Park at the bandshell.  You can still enter the show by registering at [email protected].  

Saturday there is food, crafts and vendors at Lions Park all day long. Kids will enjoy inflatables from 10am to 4pm also in Lions Park.

The parade makes its way west down Stacy Trail starting at St. John’s Church at noon.  The parade is always jam packed with fun floats and great marching bands.

After the parade head back to Lions Park for free root beer floats courtesy of First Resource Bank.  Also in the park is a waterball challenge, live music and Bingo that starts at 3pm.

The street dance in Lions Park will feature Stimulus Package and runs from 7-11pm.  Fireworks will be shot off at Lions Park at 9:30pm weather permitting. 

The City of Lindstrom lost one of their best employees ever recently.  Kay Mattson, who has been in charge of the city’s finances for as long as I can remember, sadly passed away.  Kay was such a nice person and an absolute wizard with finances.  If I ever had a question about anything that happened at a meeting that I needed clarification Kay would dumb it down so I could easily understand it.  Rest in peace Kay.
