The state patrol reports a Shafer man who was riding a bicycle south on Lofton Avenue,  was hit by a truck as he entered the intersection at Highway 8 in Chisago City, Tuesday night, June 2 about 7:50 p.m.  The Ford F350 was traveling west on the highway and carried the driver, 27 and a passenger, 29, both with Minneapols addresses.  Ian Eichten, 36, was transported with life threatening injuries but Friday this week a hospital spokesperson said he is now listed in fair condition.

The investigation is ongoing as to cause. No charges had been filed at the time the  details were released.

State Patrol was assisted by Lakes Area, Wyoming and sheriff law enforcement personnel along with firefighters from Lindstrom and Chisago City fire departments.
