The state patrol reports a Shafer man who was riding a bicycle south on Lofton Avenue,  was hit by a truck as he entered the intersection at Highway 8 in Chisago City, Tuesday night, June 2 about 7:50 p.m.  The Ford F350 was traveling west on the highway and carried the driver, 27 and a passenger, 29, both with Minneapolis addresses. 

The investigation is ongoing as to cause. No charges had been filed at the time the  details were released.

State Patrol was assisted by Lakes Area, Wyoming and sheriff law enforcement personnel along with firefighters from Lindstrom and Chisago City fire departments.

The victim is identified as 36 year old Ian Eichten. At last check the Regions Hospital in the Twin Cities described injuries as life threatening.
