Confused about Highway 8?
Many people have inquired where the Highway 8 reconstruction project sits right now. It just so happens there is a community informational meeting on Tuesday June 9 at the Lindstrom Community Center. The meeting will run from 5-7pm and will feature the recommendations made by MnDOT for improving Highway 8 from Chisago City to Taylors Falls. These meetings are the best way to stay informed of what this massive project will look like. See page 4 for the advertisement. Right now, on the west end of the route the Wyoming to Chisago City #8 projects are approaching design completion and they’re buying right-of-way.
This week we say goodbye to our senior classes at Chisago Lakes, North Branch and Trio Wolf Creek. These kids have spent the majority of their lives in our school systems and the time has come to take the next step.
I know a decent amount of these students and they have very bright futures. Congratulations to graduating seniors and good luck on the next chapter.
If you have replaced your flag recently and are wondering how to properly dispose of it, I have your solution. If you are in the market for a new flag, I have your solution.
Saturday, June 13 at Moberg Park in Chisago City, the Chisago City American Legion Post 272 will be hosting their annual flag collection and sale. They situate themselves across the street from the Post Office so those of you that can’t or don’t wish to get out of your vehicles, can take care of things curbside. The sale/collection event will run from 9am to noon.
Harmony in the Park officially kicks off next week. Everyone is invited to the Wednesday evening concert events starting at 6:30pm. The headliner is the White Sidewalls with a car show prior, and next week the performer will be an Elvis Presley tribute. Grab a lawn chair or blanket and head to Lions Park by Lindstrom city hall for this awesome series.
St. Bridget of Sweden Church in Lindstrom is starting their summer concert series June 18. The concerts are held in the church and feature some amazing artists. See page 10 for a list of performers.
Happy 29th birthday to Kim Hoffman. What a great person, teacher and friend!
