GIRLS GOLF

The Wildcat girls opened their season on April 15 at Elk River, hosted by Zimmerman, for their first Mississippi 8 Conference meet. Sophomore Neve Colucci led the way with an impressive 92, earning a 5th-place finish. She was followed by Sophia Wille (113), Mia Alvin (121), and Lorynn Tharaldson (122). Junior Grayce Prosser and eighth grader Alexis Tobias both made their varsity debuts. The Wildcats finished 8th overall with a team score of 448. Despite the placement, Coach Hawkinson remained optimistic, noting, “I saw a lot of good things for our first meet. Without any seniors, we have a bit of a challenge this season, but we are embracing it.” Monticello took first with a 353, with no other team breaking 400.

Chisago returned to action on April 16 at the Monticello Invitational without their top player, Neve Colucci. Sophomore Lorynn Tharaldson and junior Sophia Wille stepped up to lead the team with rounds of 104 and 108. Olivia Cunningham made her first varsity appearance, shooting a 124, followed closely by Grayce Prosser with a 125. The Wildcats placed 17th out of 18 teams, while Monticello once again claimed first with a 341.

The Mississippi 8 Conference meet came to Chisago on April 20, where the Wildcats showed improvement, tying for 7th place with a team score of 432. Neve Colucci led the team with a 91, followed by Sophia Wille (112), Mia Alvin (113), and Olivia Cunningham (116). Coach Hawkinson praised the team’s effort, saying, “The girls were excited for their home meet, and I’m so happy with how they played. They are working hard in practice, and we are seeing results on the course. I’m very proud of all of them!” Cambridge-Isanti tied Monticello for first place with a score of 353.
