May 13 the Chisago Age Well group will host another Dine & Discover.  This event will focus on Safe Use of Medications.  They will once again be holding the event three times,  beginning with Chisago County Senior Center in North Branch at 9am.  At noon the event will move to Zion Lutheran Church in Chisago City and the last event of the day will be at 3:30pm at the Rush City Community Center.  

May 14 the folks at Ecumen Point Pleasant Heights will be celebrating their 40th anniversary.  Point Pleasant has been a staple in our community and they would love for you to come out and see what their secret for longevity is.  The event runs from 2 to 4pm and will feature local dignitaries, great food with plenty of memories to be shared by all.  Point Pleasant is located at 28600 Fairway Lane in Chisago City just off of Old Towne Road.

We just mailed our blue renewal cards which you should be receiving in your mailbox soon.  It is our annual renewal campaign for loyal readers.  If by chance you have already mailed your payment in (it happens every year), don’t worry.  Just disregard the blue post card.  I have said it here a million times, it is you the readers along with some great local businesses,  that allow a small town newspaper to produce what we do in 2026.  Many newspapers have fallen by the wayside, but as long as we have you we will continue to bring you as much local news as we can.  Thank you so much.

May 16, the folks at Chisago City Parks invite all to their annual Ojiketa Holistic Expo.  The expo is filled with wellness vendors with free wellness classes in the different buildings in the park.  Admission is free and there is food available for purchase as well as beverages.  

Ojiketa Regional Park is located at Kirby Ave. in Chisago City.
