North Branch’s great tennis season came ot an end last week in the Section 6A semifinals.

After sweeoping sixth-seeded St. Cloud Cathedral in the first round 7-0, the third-seeded Vikings had to take on second seeded Mora.

The Mustangs narrowly topped North Branch 4-3 to mvoe on to the finals to take on Pine City in the section championship game.

The loss ended the Vikings’ team season, but starting Thursday, May 21, they’ll start individual section play, where they have a legit shot to send multiple competitors to state, including top singles player Wyatt Helberg who finished fourth last year in state as a sophomore.
