Beautiful Memorial Day services
Thank you so much to the local Veterans for doing such a great job with all the Memorial Day events at our local cemeteries. I attended some and the crowd numbers were good. It helps when Mother Nature cooperates. It was a beautiful weekend and the services were fantastic.
We have ended our subscription renewal campaign here at the Press. Many thanks to those of you who took advantage of our early renewal offer and thanks so much to those of you who subscribed for the first time recently.
If you have yet to subscribe, I would encourage you to do so soon. Beginning next week, we will start cutting off those who have yet to pay for subscriptions. I hate doing this, but the cost of postage has made it really hard to send papers for free. If you are reading this now, and stop getting the paper in a week or two, don’t worry. Just give us a call at 651-257-5115 and we can take your payment info over the phone. We can get your subscription up and running that same day. If you don’t like phones (there are some who don’t) you can subscribe online at chisagocountypress.com. Thanks again for reading.
Sending prayers to one of the area’s great ones. LeRoy Mitchell is recovering from surgery recently. LeRoy has spearheaded the Chisago Lakes Community Meal and countless other meals in our area. He is one of the most generous people I have ever met. If interested, the family and LeRoy have a GoFundMe to help with some of the mounting bills. The page is titled “Standing with LeRoy Through His Cancer Battle”. Any amount will be greatly appreciated.
Those of you who know how to fish (apparently I am not grouped in with you the way I have fished lately) please be sure to send us your big fish photos, so we can run them in the paper. You don’t have to divulge that special fishing hole if you don’t want to. We do ask that the photos of the fish come from local lakes and rivers. I would get the ball rolling, but my photo would be me, holding nothing. Somehow after decades of fishing, I have forgotten how to.
