Last week I told you the entire Swedish Immigrant Regional Trail was closed for resurfacing.  Apparently I was wrong, because we recently walked the portion that spans from Tern Avenue to Taylors Falls City Hall.  The remaining sections are closed for construction.  Sorry for the misinformation.

Chisago County (yes the entire county) is celebrating a milestone.  Our great county is turning 175 years old this week.  Happy birthday Chisago County.  Here is hoping we make it another 175 years.  

This Saturday, the folks at St. Bridget of Sweden Church invite absolutely everyone to come to their annual Block Party.  The party runs from 6-10pm and will feature the ever-popular band Boogie Wonderland.  There will be a fantastic turkey dinner, a beer tent, hot dogs and burgers and brats.  There are a bunch of kids games as well as a silent auction.  This year they will have $7,000 in cash raffle prizes given out.  As always, admission is free, so come out, listen to some great music and possibly come home with cash in your pockets.

How about those few hours of wonderfulness we had on Saturday morning?  We woke up to a steady rain that lasted almost two hours.  Is the drought over? Not by any means, but it certainly made a lot of people happy including yours truly.

Friday, we decided to take work off and headed to the great Minnesota sweat-together.  Against my will, we seem to go every year and this year was no different.  In case you have not heard, we were oh so lucky enough to be there on a record-breaking attendance day.  Yep, the guy who can’t stand crowds was there with 206,000 of his closest friends.  We made the best out of it but really didn’t try any new foods due to the incredibly long lines.  I was able to enjoy a cold beer (or two) and sit and people watch.  I don’t really keep up with what is legal of not legal when it comes to marijuana use allowed, but good grief I would have failed a drug test from the secondary smoke we took in that day.  

I know I am in the minority when it comes to loving the fair experience. The fair I can handle, the vape and weed are too much.
