East Central Regional Branch Libraries were the subject of a threat investigated by area law enforcement, Saturday, Jan. 6. Branches were closed for caution. The threats were reported to be baseless.
Suspect arrested in a pair of cold case sexual assaults
A Chisago County man has been arrested and charged in connection with a pair of sexual assaults that took place seven years apart in the cities of Stacy and Lindstrom. Investigative leads were developed based on DNA that was initially collected at the time of each offense.

December 30 A single vehicle crash reported near 8771 Lake Boulevard, involving an eastbound car that the driver lost control of, hit a culvert, driveway approach and went into ditch and air bag activated.
