Congratulations to all the winners of Tuesday’s election. We now have some new faces, and some faces that have become a staple in local government, that will soon be holding office here in our back yards.
A young North Branch father, Jason James Nordin has been charged with two counts of assault in connection with the August death of his four-month-old son.
Voters in Chisago County sent Jim Oberstar back to Congress but removed our incumbent state legislators in a heavy voter turnout Tuesday. Oberstar beat Rod Grams 12,639 votes to 8,708.
After all of the hype, all of the grandstanding, all of the mudslinging, and all of the baby kissing, it is finally time –– time for the politicians to see if their game plan had a positive influence on the voters or if it sent them running the other way.
It’s time to focus on winter squash. When I was shopping in the produce department the other day one of the “boys” asked me when I was going to do recipes for winter squash. Thanks for the reminder, Bob.
Congratulations to Pat Collins and his core classes for all their hard work last week. These wonderful kids and many parents spent last Tuesday planting trees all over Ki Chi Saga Park in Lindstrom.
