County Commissioners not gung-ho on elevating county bridge; request sent to committee for research

Only one county commissioner expressed outright support for the request from the Chisago Lakes Restoration Association last week to consider elevating the County Road 20 bridge to allow boats to navigate from North Lindstrom Lake into North Center Lake and vice-versa.

Area officers sharpen field sobriety test skills; new DUI limit effective Aug. 1

The .08 blood alcohol limit in Minnesota goes into effect August 1 and many area law enforcement officers decided to sharpen the skills they use to identify someone “under the influence.” (Minnesota was the final state to adopt the lower limit.)
