The Chisago Lakes Area Community Foundation together with donors and supportive community members announced the ‘Big Idea’ grant winner on October 13th at the Franconia Sculpture Park community space. It was a night of history, education and celebration.

Outerwear Fair gets great turnout

The Kids Outerwear Fair took place Thursday through Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lindstrom.  The group collects winter clothing all year for the event which helps a great number of families in need this winter. Winter clothing was disbursed free of charge.

The North Branch City Council has approved the annexation of a number of township parcels abutting the city’s south edge,  on a 4-0 vote. Council member Kathy Blomquist was having remote technology issues and had to sign-off mid- meeting and couldn’t vote.

Homecoming was packed, saying goodbye to a stalwart on main street

What a wonderful turnout for the homecoming game on Friday.  The food trucks were definitely what was needed.  There were people absolutely everywhere.  Unfortunately the game didn’t pan out, but people seemed to have a great time nonetheless.

Law Enforcement

Lakes Area Police took a report of an assault at an address on Newell Avenue in Lindstrom. Parties were seperated for the night and no information available on extent of any injury. County Attorney will review for charges.  Reported about 10:40 p.m.
