John D. Sampsel
John was born Nov. 17, 1954, in Bismarck, N.D., to parents Donald E. Sampsel, of Billings, Mont., and Hope Sampsel, of Clearwater, Minn.
He graduated from Winona High School in 1972 and achieved a drafting degree in Winona and engineering at the University of Minnesota.
He worked for Applied EPI, in White Bear Lake, and recently for Elite Trailers, in Wyoming, Minn., as a mechanical engineer.
John is survived by his wife, Lisa; children: Justin, Aaron, Katelyn and stepson, Nick; his parents, siblings: Conny (John) Williamson, David (Becky) Sampsel and Daniel (Carol) Sampsel; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.
A private family memorial was held at Grandstrand Funeral Home, in Lindstrom. Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday, Aug. 8, 2003, at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church, in Lindstrom. Later this fall family and friends will scatter his ashes on bluffs around Winona, Minn.
