He was born in St. Paul, Minn., in September 1932, and lived there most of his life. After retirement, he resided in Wyoming, Minn., and Lindstrom, near the lakes and golf courses as he wished.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 49-1/2 years, Marlene (nee Schwandt); sons: Stephen (Denise), Joseph, Mark, David, John (Theresa) and Ronald (Rich); mother, Julia age 96 of St. Paul; brothers: Jerome (Marilyn) of White Bear, Jack (Fran) of Pittsburg and Daniel (Sue) of Woodbury; grandchildren: Lisa, Brian, Amanda, Scott, David, Ronnie, Portia Jean, Theresa, and Stephanie; great-grandchildren: Jeffrey, Colin and Cayla and many other relatives.
He is preceded in death by his father, John; sister, Mary, and first grandson, Jeffrey.
His death is a profound loss and he will be greatly missed. We miss you dad and all your gardening, mushrooming, fishing and golfing trips.
Mass of Christian Burial was Saturday at St. Bridget of Sweden Catholic Church, Lindstrom. Private interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
