The beauty created when her daughter was married in their backyard, inspired Trudy Trenda of North Branch to begin to transform the family yard into an array of meandering garden settings. As their nest emptied, the Trendas‚ gardens grew. Trudy and her husband, Jon, erected a fence, created a series of gardens leading to a path through the woods, and transformed a playhouse into a potting shed. The gardens provide enjoyable vistas for the Trendas both inside and out, and the relaxing sounds of their water garden can be enjoyed inside their family room.

The Trenda garden is one of nine included in the Fairview Lakes Regional Auxiliary Garden Tour scheduled from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 20. Featured gardens are located in Chisago City, Scandia, Forest Lake, Wyoming, North Branch and Stacy.

Admission is only $8 per adult for a full day of enjoyment. Maps and garden tour passes can be purchased in advance at the Auxiliary Gift Shop at Fairview Lakes Regional Medical Center in Wyoming, at Fairview Lakes medical clinics in North Branch, Rush City, Lino Lakes and Chisago City and at the Yellow Bus in Forest Lake. Maps and passes will be available at the medical center in Wyoming from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the day of the tour.
