Anthony Donald Berndt passed away Memorial Day, May 26, 2003, at home with his family.

Private memorial services will be held at a later date.

Memorials to the family in lieu of flowers are to be sent to: c/o Grandstand Funeral Home, 412 Main Street, P. O. Box 27, North Branch, MN 55056.

Anthony was born July 21, 1940 in St. Paul, Minn. He attended Central High School, graduating in 1958. His life long profession was in the printing industry.

Tony was loved and respected by many, he will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know him.

Nicknamed Tony "Baloney," he was known to be something of a clown and a practical joker who loved getting a reaction out of people. Tony was an avid collector or "pack-rat" as we lovingly called him. One of his favorite past times was puttering around in his pole barn among his many odds and ends that as he put it, "might come in handy some day." Of all his collections the most amazing was inside his mind. He was a treasure trove of knowledge, trivia, ideas, and factoids (although sometimes you didn't know whether they were real or "baloney"). He also had the ability to come up with a solution to just about anything. He shared all that he was and all that he had with patience, kindness and love, asking nothing in return.

When relaxing he could usually be found in front of the TV with a can of root beer and a box of chocolate covered cherries. All of this is a mere snippet of who he was. It could never do justice to such a wonderful man. We love you, we miss you, and you will always be with us in our hearts and minds.

Tony is preceded in death by mother, Mildred; father Donald, sisters, Beverly and Laura, and son Eric.

He is survived by wife, Jolene "Jo", daughters, Kristine (Ben) Ratzlaff, Kelly (Mark) Krause, Dawn (Ron) Hill and Melisa Mudek; sons, Kenneth Berndt and Timothy Mudek; sisters, Barbara Bauer and Devona Berndt; brothers, Don (Susan) Berndt, Allen and Richard Berndt; grandchildren: Nate, Steven, Adam, Jack, Sam, Kyle, Kari, Kayla and Little Joe; niece, Marie; nephews, Jimmy, Andy, Michael, and Matthew.
