On the anniversary of his wedding to his beloved wife Kathie, Clarence died following a heart attack. He enjoyed golfing with his sons, time spent with his daughter, sharing his and Kathie's lake home with their large family and many friends, and an occasional trip to the casino.
For over 40 years he owned and operated Capitol Brake and Alignment, Inc., in St. Paul, until his retirement in 2000.
He is survived by his beloved wife Ethel "Kathie;" dear father of: Randy (Cheryl), Melodee (Del), Joe (Lorrie), Jerry (Jen), and Jeff (Kristi); 11 grandchildren, one great-grandchild; sisters: Edith and Eleanor; nieces, nephews, and many friends.
The following words are excerpts of the cards that were exchanged by Clarence and Kathie on the morning of their last anniversary together: "My Once-in-a-Lifetime Love, I could say so many things about our love and what you mean to me; We've shared so many special days together since we first fell in love. And time has brought a special understanding, a closeness that few people ever know... We've had our share of joy and disappointments, but trust and compromise have seen us through. That's why on very special days, I'm thankful that I'm sharing life with you. I Love You."
