Ruby Opal Morgenstern

Ruby Opal Morgenstern (nee Downing) was born Oct. 26, 1929, in Parkers Prairie, Minn., to Arthur Downing and Lena Schaaf. Ruby passed away Jan. 5, 2004. She married Harvey Morgenstern April 26, 1948.

Ruby was a loving caregiver at Chisago Lakes Hospital and the Margaret S. Parmly Residence for years. Ruby’s real passion was spending time with family. She was a loving, caring and supportive mother, grandmother, and friend.

Ruby is survived by husband of 55 years, Harvey; daughters: Donna (David) Crawford, Patricia (John) Davis, Gail (Perry) Reidt, Connie Burch; sons: Steven (Kim), Gerald (Debra), John Henry; 18 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister, June Koenig; many nieces, nephews, and special friend Donna Lee Crawford.

Memorial service 5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, 2004, at Grandstrand Funeral Home, Lindstrom, 651-257-4000, with Rev. Kevin Haseltine presiding. Memorial visitation from 2-5 p.m. before service. Burial at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis. In lieu of flowers memorial preferred.
