If you have driven through Lindstrom lately, you have probably seen the Veteran’s Memorial being erected. I cannot believe how quickly it is coming together. One day there are just holes in the ground and the next there are beautiful stone bases completely done. It is going to be a terrific addition to our city. There is still an opportunity to purchase a brick for the memorial. All around town you will find pamphlets for the memorial. If you have trouble locating one, just call us at the Press and we will get you in touch with the right people.
If you are a golfer, this summer will be full of opportunities to show off your swing. There are plenty of golf tournaments for you and your friends to enter. The best part is you get to golf and have a meal, while your money goes to charity. There is a Chisago Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce tournament, the annual Chisago Lakes Rotary Club tournament just to name a few. Check the County Press for details on signing up.
The annual Relay for Life is still looking for more teams to participate in this year’s relay. This is a wonderful event to raise money for the fight against cancer. If you can help in any way, please call Jody at 651-257-9366. We need to find a cure for cancer and this is your chance to help.
Congratulations to the Chisago Lakes boys baseball team, who as of yesterday (Tuesday), won both of their playoff games. They beat Duluth East and Grand Rapids to advance to the championship game of their section. Pat Collins does such a great job with all his teams. Good job and good luck.
