Edith Carlson, age 99, of the Margaret S. Parmly Residence, Chisago City, formerly of Taylors Falls, passed away December 10, 2006.

She was born to Edward and Alice Gustafson, January 24, 1907, and grew up on a farm in Chisago City. Edith married Melwyn Carlson May 21, 1929. They lived on the farm in Shafer and moved to Taylors Falls in 1955. She lived there until 2002 when she moved to the Parmly Residence.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Melwyn in 1975; a brother, Raymond Gustafson; sisters: Agnes Peterson, Gladys Swenson, and Hazel Anderson; son-in-law, Lee Rogers; and grandson, Timothy Rogers.

Edith leaves behind a loving family of son, Harlan (Mavis) Carlson; daughters: Marcielle Rogers, Marilyn (Robert) Tangen and Grace (Edward) Bonderson; 14 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. Edith also leaves a brother-in-law, Edger Carlson and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 16, 2006, at 1 p.m., with visitation one hour prior to service at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, in Taylors Falls, 651-465-5265. Burial at Kah- bakong Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the church.
