Wildcat volleyball team wins one, drops two to end season
The Wildcats started the tourney pool play with a win. CL beat Paynesville 25-15 and 25-17. In the second round, the opponent was Southwest Christian out of Chaska. The stars beat the ‘Cats 25-9, 20-25 and 15-11 in a very close match. In round three, the Crusaders from St. Cloud Cathedral beat CL 25-16 and 25-21.
“Then, we played for fifth against Morris and lost 21-25 and 18-25. It was a good tournament for us. We played well. I was pleased with our effort,” said Wildcat head coach Nicole DeVries. “We played tough teams and, even though we lost three out of four matches, we feel they helped us prepare for the post season. We are really looking forward to playing in the post season!”
The Wildcats were scheduled to host St. Francis in the first round of the 7AAA South Subsection Tournament Wednesday, October 25 at 7p.m. The winner of that contest will play Friday, October 27 in the second round of the tournament.
