For the second year in a row, the North Branch Viking girls tennis team has earned the right to be called the State Team Academic Champion.  In 2005, North Branch shared the title with Hopkins, but has won the title outright this year. In 2005, the team had a 3.95 grade point average (out of a posssible 4.00. This year’s team has an incredible 3.961 GPA.

“A great deal of our success as a team is because of how smart and hard working this group of girls has been,” McLaughlin commented proudly. “They attended the State Tournament Banquet October 24 in recognition of this accomplishment.  All four of our seniors (Jeni Farr, Kelsey O’Hern, Robyn Rodrigue and Danni Sonnenfeld) qualify as academic all-state selections as well.”
