Peltier finishes 10th in State
Swimmers also have nice outing at State Meet
After eight dives, Peltier was in eighth place with 223.75 points. “But, with so many seniors in front of her, she just couldn’t hold that place,” said Wildcat diving coach Lisa Willhite. “Ana did a great job, it was too bad she did not hold the eighth place,” said CL head coach Ed Wakefield. “But, a great job from a girl who is only a sophomore.” Peltier finished with 301.30. “She could have finished higher, but she hit the board on one of her early dives,” Willhite said.
“The swimmers did a great job, too. Emily Stein did go faster in both of her events than she did at sections,” Wakefield added.
Lauren Koch finished in 24th in the 200 IM (2:31.61) and 32nd in the 500 freestyle (5:47.85). Emily Stein was 24th in the 50 freestyle (25.80) and the 100 freestyle (56.72). Eighth grader Lindsay Carlson competed in diving, but was eliminated in the preliminary round. “It was a great experience for Lindsay,” Willhite added. “She was the only eighth grader there. She has four more years.” The 400 freestyle relay team (Koch, Andrea Olson, Leah Secord and Emily Stein) also swam, but was disqualified.
“All in all, I would say we had a great year,” concluded Wakefield.
