Monday, September 25 the Viking tennis team traveled to St. Louis Park to play Benilde-St. Margaret’s. Although the Red Knights won the meet, North Branch first singles player Danni Sonnenfeld continued her strong play and won an exciting match.
Sonnenfeld’s latest win came by scores of 2-6, 6-4 and 7-5. “It was probably Danni’s biggest win of the year,” said North Branch head coach Tom McLaughlin.
“ At the other singles spots, Sara Fletcher at 2, Katie Wicklund at 3 and Emily Byrne at 4 all played very well but the Benilde girls were just too strong for us,” McLaughlin continued.
At second doubles, Kelsey O’Hern and Crystal Miller played well despite losing 3-6, 3-6. The first and third doubles teams struggled that day.
