Against Columbia Heights, Kelsey Lloyd was first with an all-around score of 33.0. Her high score was an 8.6 in the floor exercise. Shayna Bauer was second with an all-around score of 31.9. Sammy Jannings' 29.05 earned third place and teammates Darbi Berkman and Sophia Kneen finished in the next two spots.
"The varsity squad did a great job at this meet. We have been putting new routines together and adding more difficulty to old ones and our scores are still staying consistent," said Viking assistant coach Kym Berg.
At Chisago Lakes, Lloyd won the beam with a 8.575, took third in the vault and fourth on the bars and floor to finish with a second place all-around score of 33.375. Bauer was fourth with 31.325
"Despite the loss, a few of our gymnasts had personal best scores for this season and for their high school careers," Berg said. "Darbi Berkman scored an 8.1 on floor which is her high school best. Shayna Bauer also scored her HS best on floor with an 8.775."
The Vikings are at conference foe St. Francis tonight, January 18 before they host Fridley Tuesday, January 23. Both meets begin at 6:30.
