Chisago Lakes High School student Korah Agre recently earned a trip to the National High School Rodeo Finals.

Students who competed in four rodeos during the August 06-June 07 season qualified to compete in the Minnesota High School Rodeo State Finals June 15-17 in Hugo. Riders who accumulated the most points for the season, including the first two days of the state competition, participated in the final "Short Go" Sunday, June 17.

Agre qualified for the short go by finishing in the top 10 in all five of her events (pole bending, barrel racing, breakaway roping, goat tying and cutting).

Sunday, she finished in the top four in goat tying and barrel racing, and won the breakaway and cutting, championships. Her performance qualified her for the High School Rodeo National Finals in Springfield, Illinois July 22-28 in all four categories.

Agre also finished as the Reserve All-Around Cowgirl champion and was voted the female Student Director by her peers. In that role, she will serve as the voice of the students at Board of Directors meetings as well as to each rodeo.

She took home two saddles and several buckles for winning the championships. The CLHS junior plans to compete in two more years of high school rodeo and hopes to attend Missouri Valley Rodeo College the fall of 2009.
