The Wildcat volleyball team finished fifth at the Big Lake Invitational Saturday, September 15.

Chisago Lakes opened play with a 25-19, 25-14 win over Zimmerman. They followed the win with losses to Faribault (25-10, 25-20) and Rocori of Cold Spring (23-25, 25-20, 17-15). The 'Cats came back in the afternoon, taking fifth place with a 25-15, 28-26 win over the Braham Bombers.

"Courtney Fautsch was out for the weekend and we missed her leadership and termination power," said Wildcat head coach Katie Larson. "It was kind of a rough weekend for us, but a great learning experience. I think the girls and the coaching staff learned a lot."

The Wildcats were back on the road September 17 and 18. Monday they beat non-conference opponent Mahtomedi 25-20, 25-20, 25-19. Tuesday, they ran their North Suburban Conference record to 3-0 with a win at St. Louis Park. They swept the Orioles 25-16, 25-16, 25-18. The two wins pushed the CL season record to 11-4.

"Both matches were played well and with a whole team effort," Larson commented. "The girls are playing more consistently and keep improving every day. It's great to see them learning and having fun together,"

The Wildcats travel to Columbia Heights today, Thursday, September 27, before hosting Fridley Tuesday, October 2. Both events are scheduled for 7:00 starts.
