Dr. Dan Anderson donates a portion of the student sports physical fee back to the North Branch Schools athletic department each year.

He presented a check for $630 to Activities Director Becky Leuer who said the funds are used to provide scholarships for students who may not be able to participate in sports due to the cost.

Anderson said he enjoys seeing the students each year, it helps him keep in touch with the community. And he enjoys watching the students grow. He also said, after doing sports physicals for almost 20 years, he is now seeing children of students he saw back in the beginning.

Leuer noted that she is always looking for businesses or individuals who might want to donate funds to the schools. She said there are many areas that can use this extra boost such as the music department or groups or classes that are taking trips.

With nearly 1,000 students, there is a large amount of athletes that pass through the fields of North Branch.
