Not only did anglers have to battle bass all weekend during the Frankie's Pro Team Fishing Tournament in Chisago City, they had to really battle Mother Nature.

On Friday, the anglers dealth with overcast clouds most of the day as well as tough winds. As they adjusted their gear for the climate, they were introduced back to Minnesota summer the next day with a cloudless sky and nary a wind gust.

The conditions affected almost all the teams, but nothing could stop Mike Bruno and Mike Metzger from running away with the tournament win.

The pair ended the first day with a weigh-in of 21.04 pounds, a near five-pound lead over second place. They kept hitting the big fish at a rapid pace the next day, totaling 23.13 pounds for a total of 44.17 pounds, which was just about 12 pounds ahead of the second place team of Nathan Whiting and Brian Block.

For their effort, the Mike and Mike team took home a brand new Ranger Boat and motor combo valued at just over $25,000.

The biggest fish prize went to Shane Martin, who netted a 5.96 pound bass on South Center Lake. The beast was caught on the second day of fishing by Martin, who along with Doug Copeland, finished in eighth place in the tournament.
