Cass Vil Blakey, age 47, of Lindstrom passed away December 21, 2009 in Sterling, Alaska. He was born on May 31, 1962 in Chisago City, MN and was the last of 13 children born to Isaac and Arlee Blakey. Cass attended Chisago Lakes High School and then received his GED in 1997. He had many odd jobs over the years, but was mostly self employed and had his own business called "The Whatever Shop" where he did just about "whatever". Cass had two children Cody (21) and Jessica (19). He also had much influence in raising two others he considered his own, Jared Swanson (21) and Kadye Swanson (17). Cass was a great father. He spent his entire life on the old family farm in Lindstrom, until 2007 when he moved to Sterling, Alaska. He really loved it out there and found it to be his new home. Cass was very well known and very loved by many in his community and in Alaska and will be greatly missed.

He is preceded in death by parents Isaac and Arlee Blakey, sister Judy Blakey.

Survived by children Cody and Jessica Blakey, Jared and Kadye Swanson; siblings Isaac Blakey, Lorraine Prince, Eddith Jefferson, Carole Beison, Tony Blakey, Daniel (Caroll) Blakey, Jean Blakey, Candy (David) Pettiford, Joan (Howard) Kempffer, David (Beverly) Blakey, & Jerry (Jackie) Blakey; many nieces, and nephews and grand nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010 at Chisago Lake Lutheran Church in Center City.

Visitation 5-9 p.m. Friday at Grandstrand Funeral Home in Lindstrom and one hour prior to service at church.

Interment Fairview Cemetery in Lindstrom.
