Cory Lushanko chalked up a hat trick for the third game in a row as the Wildcat boys' hockey team crushed Meadow Creek Christian 13-1 last Tuesday, December 22 at the Schwan's Super Rink in Blaine. Lushanko finished with four goals and two assists against the Saints. Andrew Habel also had six points on the night, with a goal and five assists. Habel assisted on all four of Lushanko's goals.
Ory Burggraff also had a productive night for the Wildcats (4-3 overall, 0-2 conference), with two goals and two assists. Six other Wildcats scored one goal each: Tyler Henderson, Bret Lizotte, Tommy Johnson, Matt Petersen, Jeff Sargeant and Leigh Dehmer. Dehmer's goal was the first in his varsity career. Petersen and Riley Doriott had two assists apiece, and Cole DuBose, Lizotte, DJ Edstrom, Sargeant and Dehmer each had one assist
Lushanko has ten goals in the last three Wildcat games and ranks ninth in the state in goals scored. Goaltender Brian Hynes stopped 21 of the 22 shots he faced for the Wildcats.
