Lois D. Johnson, age 82 of North Branch died unexpectedly Friday, Jan. 9, 2009 while vacationing in Sun City West, Arizona.

Lois was born July 24, 1926 in St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin to Charles and Violet (Larson) Frost. She was raised in the Chisago Lakes area and graduated from Chi High in Lindstrom. She married Rodney C. Johnson on July 6, 1946 in Lindstrom. She was an owner/operator of grocery stores in Almelund and North Branch with her husband, Rodney. Lois was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and Choir, Sweet Adelines Vocal Group and Eastern Star. She liked working crossword puzzles and spending time with her family and grandchildren.

She is survived by daughters, Susan (Tom) Biales; Nancy (Glen) Boyce; Tammy (Steve) Johnson; son, Mark (Diane) Johnson; five grandchildren, Evan and Jillian Boyce; Justin, Marshall and Grant Johnson; brother, Glenn (Char) Frost and numerous nieces and nephews. Lois is preceded in death by her husband, Rodney in 2001; daughter, Gayle Johnson and brothers, Jack and Richard.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, 2009 from Immanuel Lutheran Church in Almelund with Rev. Brian Bergin officiating. Organist will be Joann Nielsen; with Pat Remer as pianist and Evan Boyce soloist. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. Saturday, until time of service, at the church in Almelund. Memorials are preferred to Immanuel Lutheran Church, American Cancer Society or Hospice
