Glenn was born the son of Walter and Mabel (Erickson) Reed on September 6, 1925, at home in Chisago Lake Township, MN. He was united in marriage to Elsie Ruth Will in 1949.
Glenn was a lifetime resident of the Lindstrom-Center City area graduating from Lindstrom Center City School class of 1943. He was also a lifetime member of Chisago Lake Lutheran Church. He served in the United States Army during World War II. Glenn worked on his farm, drove school bus for 15 years and worked numerous other jobs. Glenn and Elsie delivered Meals on Wheels for 30 years. He will be remembered always for his love of the outdoors, his patience, and love he had for all children.
Glenn is survived by his loving family: wife of 60 years Elsie; children Marilyn (Jerry) Appleby of Austin TX, Linda (Neil) Turner of Simpsonville SC, Cheryl Glanz of Lincoln NE, Kent (Deb) Reed of Center City. Grandchildren Darren (Heather), Deanna (Brad), Drew, Davrie, Daniel, Alie (Brandon), Katie (Cameron), Eric; Great-grandchildren Isaac, Regan, Hallie, Luke baby due in December; his brother Vincent Reed of Verona WI; sisters-in-law Darlene Reed of Lindstrom and Marilyn Will of Osceola WI; honorary family the Kuhnly kids Dawn, Twyla, Priscilla, Delight, and Owen, and nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
Glenn was preceded in death by his mother and father Walter and Mabel Reed, brother Robert Reed, sister and brother-in-law Doris and Harold Frantz, sister-in-law Janet Reed, brother-in-law Albert Will and son-in-law Rob Glanz.
Casket Bearers; Jeff Reed, David Reed, Brian Will, Bruce Will, Rick Reed, Dan Reed and Steve Frantz.
Honorary Casket Bearers are Gary Will, Brian Reed and Tom Reed.
Funeral Service 11 a.m. Saturday Oct. 31 at Chisago Lake Lutheran Church, Center City, with Rev. Craig Lundstad-Vogt officiating. Interment at Hillside Cemetery in Center City.
