Pictured John (right) and Helen Lindhart, of North Branch, recently presented Lora O'Hern (left) high school administration, with a check for $1,000 from the Kenneth J. Lindhart Memorial Fund.

Kenneth was a 1992 North Branch graduate and went on to graduate from Winona State University. Kenneth participated in high school tennis and football and loved sports, whether he was playing or a spectator. Kenneth served six years in the Air National Guard and was a department manager at Cub Foods before he passed away in 2005. "Ken was one of those special people... he wasn't very big in physical stature, but he was definitely one of the big men on campus. He put his heart and soul into everything he did. You wasted your breath telling Ken to step out of a drill because the guy he was with was twice his size because he would just say 'bring it on, come on lets do this.' He loved to compete and give it his very best. Ken made everyone around him better," said Tom Moriarty, North Branch area high school art teacher.

The family started the memorial fund shortly after Kenneth's death to assist other athletes, and many have already benefitted from it. The Lindhart's generosity is greatly appreciated.
