If there was any question that the monsters of Chisago Lakes Area hot spots were dying off, those inquires were squashed this week after the annual Frankie's Pro Team Tournament.

Although contest winners David Sicheneder and Rick Juba came in with slightly less poundage than last year's winners, they still reeled in over 38 pounds of bass over the course of two days.

And they weren't the only ones bringing in big hauls to Frankie's Marine and Bait Shop each day.

In second place, Scotty Peterson and Kim Gibson brought in 34.63 pounds of bass.

The rest of the top five pairs went as follows:

Third place went to the pair of Ken Nelson and Mark Robarge with a combined total of 33.04 pounds.

Fourth place went to Kerry Schlipp and Joe Neely, who pulled in 30.06 pounds

Fifth place went to Ted Capra and Shane Martin, who caught 29.96 pounds over the weekend.

The total came in under the 44.17 pounds that was caught by Mike Bruno and Mike Metzger in last year's tournament, but it was still a solid haul for most of the fishermen who came out for the tournament.

For their efforts, Sicheneder and Juba won a 2010 Ranger Boat from Frankie's, which was a part of a package of over $35,000 in cash and prizes awarded during the tournament.

All of the bass were quickly moved to live storage and transported back to the lakes they were caught on, which included Green Lake, North Center Lake and South Center Lake, meaning these monster bass are still swimming around in the depths of area lakes.

For more information on the best spots to dip your line in the water in the area, stop in at Frankie's Marine and Bait and talk with them, or give them a call at 651-257-6334, and these bass could be jumping alongside the boat.
