St. Anthony Village 56, Chisago Lakes 42

With junior Whitney Tinjum and freshman Bryanna Fernstrom both still out due to injuries, the Wildcats faced their last opponent before a week-long Christmas break.

The St. Anthony Village Huskies came into Chisago Lakes sporting a 4-3 record, and they left the area with another 'W' on their resume, and left the Wildcats reeling with their third loss in four games.

Without Tinjum and Fernstrom, the 'Cats lacked the scoring punch they had in the beginning of the season, and were only able to must 42 points, which tied for their season low.

Zoe Hansen led the girls with 17 points and eight rebounds, but she was the only one to score in double digits as junior post player Brittney Land scored nine points as the second-leading scorer.

Without the size of Tinjum or Fernstrom, who are also the Wildcats' two tallest players, CL also had trouble rebounding the ball. Besides Hansen, nobody grabbed more than five boards, and they finished the night with only 22 rebounds total.

After starting out the season ranked fifth in the state in Class AAA, the Wildcats have taken a tumble. They've lost three of their last four, and without Tinjum and Fernstrom, it's been a struggle to hit the boards or light up the scoreboard.

They hope to have at least Fernstrom back by the Holiday Tournament this week.

They are participating in the Packer Classic in South St. Paul. They will be joined by host South St. Paul, as well as Prescott, WI, and Park of Cottage Grove.

The 'Cats opened up the tournament against Prescott on Tuesday, and depending on the result, they would face one of either Park or South St. Paul in the next round.

If they are in the third place game, they would play at 1 p.m., if they are in the championship game, they'd play at 5 p.m.
