In the southern half of the Section 7AA team tournament last Tuesday at North Branch, the fifth-seeded Wildcat wrestling team was given the opportunity to avenge a 31-30 loss earlier this season against fourth-seeded Princeton. The Wildcats took advantage of the opportunity, thrashing Princeton 43-20. In the second round of the evening, the Wildcats went up against top-seeded Mora and came out on the short end of that one, losing 36-21. The loss ended the Wildcats' team season for 2009-2010.

Individual Section Tournament

The Wildcats will head up County Road 14 for the Section 7AA individual tournament this Friday and Saturday, February 26 and 27, at North Branch High School. The action starts at 9 a.m. both days. Wildcat wrestler Clay Olson (171), a state entrant from last year, has a great chance to make it to this year's state tournament. The state tournament starts next Wednesday, March 3 at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.
