The first Chisago Lakes/North Branch Coaches vs Cancer fundraiser was a huge hit. The communties and teams raised over $9,200. "A big thank you to each of you that supported our effort for the American Cancer Society. It was successful beyond my wildest dreams," North Branch boys Head Coach Bill Baumann said. " The kids did a wonderful job. They put out an exceptional effort and I could not be more proud of these young people." Chisago Lakes boys Head Coach Herb Jangor added, "It was a nice little effort by all the teams. It's astounding how much money they raised for a good cause. The American Cancer Society was the big winners that night."

Between the two games last week, representatives from each team, inlcuding all four head coaches, Craig Walker, Dan Schindler, Bill Baumann and Herb Jangor, announced the total amount of money raised for the American Cancer Society.

American Cancer Society's Jenna Kase said, "I am so thrilled! I told the manager for the entire Midwest Division about the event, and he could not believe the numbers I told him! The coaches should be incredibly proud of their students...that is exceptional work, and the American Cancer Society is very grateful to , the coaches, the teams, the schools and the wonderful communites."
