The Chisago Lakes U12 boys Wildcats, currently 9-1 in league play, had an impressive showing at Blaine's North American Challenge 2010 tournament the weekend of June 26-27. The squad came into the weekend with two runner-up finishes, one in Eagan and another at the Hudson Border Battle.

The boys started the weekend with a 1-1 tie against Eden Prairie on Saturday morning, and played to an impressive 6-3 win over Woodbury in the afternoon game. Sunday morning the Wildcats faced Blaine, a team the Wildcats "split" with in league play. After getting down 3-1, a late charge and goals from Josh Swenson and Ryan Mattison tied the game, while strong goaltending from Austin Larson held off the Blaine attack. The Wildcats finished with a tie, just enough to advance to its third championship game of the season, a rematch against Eden Prairie.

Unfortunately, a strong showing from Eden Prairie resulted in a 3-1 loss for the Wildcats, who still seek that elusive championship. The team remains in first place in league play however, and district playoffs are right around the corner.
