Lois J. Johnson, age 91 of Center City died Friday, July 9, 2010 at Parmly LifePointes, Chisago City.

Lois was born February 16, 1919 to Archie F.L. and Hedvig (Hansen) Stromgren, of Center City. She was baptized and confirmed at Chisago Lake Lutheran Church. She graduated from Lindstrom-Center City High School and Carleton College.

On April 17, 1943 Lois married Lester J. Johnson of rural Lindstrom. As part of Lester's military and work commitments they lived in Rhode Island, Albert Lea, MN South St. Paul, Cloquet and Brainerd, MN before settling back into Lois's childhood home in Center City. The lived here until 2004 when they became a couple of the first residents of the new Bayview Senior Apartments, also in Center City.

Lois worked for a number of years as church secretary for Chisago Lakes Lutheran. She and Les were involved in many activities including; Masons/Eastern Star, bridge, club, Meals on Wheels, and the Center City Historical Society.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Lester, other relatives and many friends.

Memorial service Wednesday, July 14, at Chisago Lake Lutheran Church, with Rev. Craig Lundstad-Vogt officiating. Burial at Hillside Cemetery.
