Chisago Lakes sends two to Minnesota Lions All-Star game
Henderson and Reed are two of only eighty 2010 Minnesota high school graduates playing in the all-star tournament. They join their teammates on Friday, June 25, and Saturday, June 26, for a four-team, round-robin tournament at the Chaska Athletic Park in Chaska, Minn.
Both Henderson, a catcher/pitcher, and Reed, a pitcher/third baseman, just finished their senior years at Chisago Lakes High School.
Next year, Henderson will play at the College of Saint Scholastica.
The Minnesota All-Star Baseball Tournament, now in its 36th year, is co-sponsored by the Minnesota Lions Eye Bank and the Minnesota High School Baseball Coaches Association. Tournament proceeds benefit the Lions Children's Eye Clinic at the University of Minnesota. The University clinic sees more than five-thousand children each year, many who have rare or serious vision problems that require specialized treatment. The All-Star Tournament has now raised more than $350,000 for the Children's Eye Clinic.
Join Henderson, Reed and fans from across Minnesota at this fun and worthwhile tournament. Admission is open to the public, and tickets may be purchased at the gate for $5.00 ($4.00 for students and seniors). Call (toll-free) 1-866-887-4448 for more information.
