Violet was born October 8, 1925 in St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin to her parents, Edwin and Celida (Wass) Johnson. She was raised in the Taylors Falls area where she graduated from high school. She married Theodore "Ted" Norelius on July 7, 1951 in St. Paul. Violet was the Chisago County Treasurer for many years, retiring in 1984. She resided at Bull Lake from 1951 to 2007. Violet and her husband, Ted enjoyed the wildlife and peaceful serenity of this wonderful place now known as Allemansratt Park. Violet enjoyed her many travels, hunting, fishing, camping, needle work, cooking, gardening and playing the piano and organ. She was a member of the Swedish Institute, The Red Hats and the American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews; Randy Johnson of Lindstrom, Patty (Gene) Haider of Stacy, Denise (Dale) Zebro of Forest Lake, Tammy Greene of Lindstrom, Neil (Carla) Norelius of Lindstrom, Jay (Caroline) Norelius of Lindstrom, Linda (Craig) Moline of Cambridge, Suzette Norelius of Cummings, GA, Janan (Roger) Thompson of Las Vegas, NV and Sue Ellen (Keith) Schadt of Windom. She is also survived by several other great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.
Violet was preceded in death by her first husband, Ted, second husband, Gerald Stolt, parents, Edwin and Celida Johnson, step mother Agnes Johnson, brothers, Karl and Donald and sister in law Betty Johnson.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 30, 2010 from Trinity Lutheran Church in Lindstrom with Rev. Paul Bjorklund officiating. Organist is Carol Peterson and pianist will be Mike Savold. Soloists will be Jolene Wille and Kelly Bjork. Visitation 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Grandstrand Funeral Home in Lindstrom and one hour prior to the service at church on Wednesday. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Lindstrom. Serving as casket bearers: Brad Norelius, Brian Norelius, Bart Norelius, Aaron Nascene, Brandon Johnson, Nate Wille, Jason Martin and Jamie Johnson.
