None of the girls from North Branch could advance to the second round in the tough sub-section in St. Francis.
Gabby Ruddy played well, but she was matched against the top seed in the section and fell 0-6, 1-6 in straight sets.
The other singles player, Katie Munns, lost 0-6, 0-6 in her battle against Rachel Hoxmeier of Cambridge-Isanti.
In doubles Emily Ziegler and Autumn Ruddy lost 0-6, 0-6 in their first round match.
Kelcee Archer and Katherine Helbig won their first set against the Chisago Lakes team of Jaci Vitali and Ashley Paul 6-2 but dropped the next two sets 2-6, 4-6 in the three-set affair.
"It was over too fast," North Branch Head Coach Tom McLaughlin said. "The girls played as well as they could have.
"We'll have some big changes on our squad next year. We lose 12 seniors off the team. Gabby and Autumn Ruddy and Kaymen Ebnet will be back next year as well as a large number of junior varsity players who have improved a great deal."
Chisago Lakes Individual Sub-Section
In her first round match up, Sammy Hindt drew one of the top players in the section, Tori Marlton of Cambridge-Isanti. Marlton has been playing varsity for four years, and was heavily favored going into the match. Although Marlton did end up winning, Hindt put up a good fight in the first set, losing 3-6 before eventually losing 0-6 in the second set. It was a quality match for Hindt to get under her belt as she is still very young.
Shannon Sullivan, who earned the ninth seed, won her first match easily, beating the eighth seed from Elk River 6-1, 6-1.
However, with the win, Sullivan was awarded a match with the top seed in the section, and Sullivan went down 1-6, 1-6 to end her season.
In doubles, Ali Mohr and Kaylee Carlson fell 2-6, 2-6 in their first round match up against the fifth-seeded pair from Forest Lake.
Vitali and Ashley Paul topped Archer and Helbig in the first round by a score of 2-6, 6-2, 6-4, but they ran into the third seeded tandem from Forest Lake in the second round, and they lost 6-1, 6-0.
